CVE-2021-31826 describes a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in Shibboleth Service Provider 3.x before version 3.2.2. This flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) by supplying a crafted cookie, even on systems not actively using the session recovery feature. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction required.
