CVE-2021-29096 is a use-after-free vulnerability in Esri ArcReader, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Engine 10.8.1 (and earlier), and ArcGIS Pro 2.7 (and earlier) that allows arbitrary code execution. An unauthenticated attacker can trigger this by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted file. With a CVSS score of 7.8 (High), it requires user interaction (UI:R) but has low attack complexity (AC:L) and can lead to high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts (C:H/I:H/A:H). There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
