CVE-2021-27290 describes a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability in ssri versions 5.2.2 through 8.0.0, affecting products like Oracle GraalVM and Siemens SINEC. This flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to craft malicious Subresource Integrity (SRI) hashes that, when processed with the strict option enabled, consume excessive CPU resources, leading to a denial of service. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction, resulting in high availability impact.
