CVE-2021-24230 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability affecting the Patreon WordPress plugin versions prior to 1.7.0. This flaw allows an attacker to trick a logged-in user into overwriting or creating arbitrary user metadata, including their roles and privileges, simply by visiting a malicious link. With a CVSS score of 8.1 (HIGH), successful exploitation could lead to a denial of service by locking users out of their accounts and preventing access to paid content. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
