CVE-2021-21554 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the BIOS of several Dell PowerEdge and Precision systems when equipped with Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory. A highly privileged local attacker could exploit this flaw to cause a denial of service, execute arbitrary code, or disclose sensitive information within the UEFI or BIOS Preboot Environment. Rated 6.7 MEDIUM on the CVSS scale, it requires high privileges and local access, but has a high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
