CVE-2021-1587 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the VXLAN OAM feature (NGOAM) of Cisco NX-OS Software. This flaw, caused by improper handling of specific TRILL OAM EtherType packets, affects devices within a VXLAN EVPN fabric. With a CVSS score of 8.6 (HIGH), an unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by sending crafted packets, leading to high CPU usage, resource exhaustion, control plane instability, and potential device reloads.
