CVE-2021-1565 describes multiple denial-of-service (DoS) vulnerabilities in Cisco IOS XE Software for Catalyst 9000 Family Wireless Controllers, stemming from insufficient validation of Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP) packets. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit these flaws by sending malformed CAPWAP packets, causing the affected device to crash and reload. With a CVSS score of 8.6 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction, leading to a complete loss of availability. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
