CVE-2020-9062 affects Diebold Nixdorf ProCash 2100xe USB ATMs running Wincor Probase version 1.1.30. The vulnerability stems from the lack of encryption, authentication, and integrity verification for messages exchanged between the Cash Cassette Dispenser Module (CCDM) and the host computer. An attacker with physical access to internal ATM components could exploit this by intercepting and modifying messages, enabling deposit forgery, such as altering the deposited currency amount or value. This is a medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 5.3) with a physical attack vector and high impact on integrity. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
