CVE-2020-9006 describes a critical SQL injection vulnerability in the Popup Builder plugin (versions 2.2.8 through 2.6.7.6) for WordPress, stemming from PHP Deserialization via the attachmentUrl POST variable. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to create an arbitrary WordPress Administrator account, potentially leading to Remote Code Execution. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL) and an EPSS percentile higher than 97% of all CVEs, the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity and no user interaction. Despite its high severity and potential for complete compromise, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
