CVE-2020-8884 describes an improper deserialization vulnerability in the rcdsvc component of the Proofpoint Insider Threat Management Windows Agent (formerly ObserveIT Windows Agent) prior to version 7.9. This flaw allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (High), this vulnerability poses a significant risk, enabling complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
