CVE-2020-8659 describes a memory exhaustion vulnerability in CNCF Envoy, affecting versions through 1.13.0, as well as related Debian and Red Hat products. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.5) allows an unauthenticated attacker to remotely trigger excessive memory consumption by sending HTTP/1.1 requests or responses with numerous small chunks, leading to a denial-of-service. Despite its potential impact, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
