23
FAUCET Score

CVE-2020-8570 describes a critical path traversal vulnerability in Kubernetes Java client libraries (versions 10.0.0 and prior to 9.0.1). This flaw allows an attacker to write files outside the intended directory when copying multiple files from a remote pod that sends a maliciously crafted archive, potentially overwriting any file on the system executing the client code. With a CVSS score of 9.1 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability has a network attack vector and low attack complexity, requiring no user interaction. Successful exploitation could lead to high impact on both integrity and availability of the affected system. Despite its critical severity, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this CVE.
