CVE-2020-7466 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the PPP implementation of MPD before version 5.9, affecting MPD Project and Stormshield Network Security products. A remote attacker can trigger this by sending specially crafted PPP authentication messages, leading to a read beyond the allocated memory buffer. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, resulting in a high impact on availability.
