CVE-2020-5591 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting XACK DNS versions 1.11.0 to 1.11.4, 1.10.0 to 1.10.8, 1.8.0 to 1.8.23, 1.7.0 to 1.7.18, and earlier versions. This flaw allows remote attackers to degrade recursive resolver performance or use the resolver in reflection attacks. Rated 7.5 HIGH on the CVSS scale, it is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to high availability impact. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
