CVE-2020-4435 is a high-severity arbitrary memory corruption vulnerability (CWE-787) affecting various IBM Aspera applications, including Aspera High-Speed Transfer Server and Aspera Faspex On Demand. An authenticated attacker with intimate system knowledge could exploit this flaw via the HTTP fallback service to achieve arbitrary code execution or a denial-of-service. With a CVSS score of 7.5, the attack complexity is high, but successful exploitation could lead to significant impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
