CVE-2020-4433 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in several IBM Aspera applications, including Aspera Application Platform On Demand, Faspex On Demand, and High-Speed Transfer Server. This flaw, caused by improper bounds checking, allows a remote attacker with intimate server knowledge to execute arbitrary code with root privileges or cause a denial of service. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), it requires high attack complexity but has a significant impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
