CVE-2020-3500 is a high-severity denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Cisco StarOS and related ASR 5500/5700 and Virtualized Packet Core Single Instance products. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit insufficient validation of incoming IPv6 traffic by sending a crafted packet, causing the device to reload. With a CVSS score of 8.6, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction, leading to a complete loss of availability.
