CVE-2020-15703 describes an input validation vulnerability in the aptdaemon_project aptdaemon, where an unprivileged user can exploit a lack of validation on the Locale property during an apt transaction. This allows the user to supply a full path to a writable directory, enabling aptd to read files as root. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 3.3 (LOW) with a local attack vector and low complexity, primarily impacting confidentiality by allowing an attacker to check for the existence of any files on the system as root.
