CVE-2020-15480 is a high-severity vulnerability affecting PassMark BurnInTest, OSForensics, and PerformanceTest. It allows low-privilege users to read and write to arbitrary Model Specific Registers (MSRs) via exposed IOCTL functionality in the DirectIo32.sys and DirectIo64.sys kernel drivers. This local attack vector, with low complexity, could lead to arbitrary Ring-0 code execution and privilege escalation, as indicated by its CVSS score of 8.8.
