CVE-2020-15479 is a buffer overflow vulnerability in the DirectIo32.sys and DirectIo64.sys drivers used by PassMark BurnInTest through 9.1, OSForensics through 7.1, and PerformanceTest through 10. The vulnerability arises from the driver's IOCTL request handler attempting to copy input buffers to the stack without size validation. This critical flaw, rated 8.8 HIGH on CVSS, allows for local privilege escalation and arbitrary Ring-0 code execution. Despite its severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion, and it is not listed in CISA's KEV catalog.
