This flaw allows remote WHOIS servers to execute arbitrary code on a system running DMitry by sending a specially crafted, excessively long line in a WHOIS response, which is then mishandled by the nic_format_buff function. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), it presents a severe risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and potential for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
