CVE-2020-11081 describes a privilege escalation vulnerability in osquery versions prior to 4.4.0 on Windows systems. A local attacker can exploit this by placing a malicious zlib1.dll in a user-writable directory within the system's PATH, which osquery will then load with elevated privileges. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 8.2) allows for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
