CVE-2019-5060

28
FAUCET Score

CVE-2019-5060 is a critical code execution vulnerability in the XPM image rendering function of SDL2_image 2.0.4, affecting various libsdl and opensuse products. An integer overflow during colorhash processing leads to an undersized buffer, allowing a heap overflow and ultimately remote code execution when a specially crafted XPM image is displayed. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (High), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity, requiring user interaction but potentially leading to full compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its severity, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
