CVE-2019-3821 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the civetweb frontend used by Ceph RGW servers when SSL is enabled, affecting Canonical and Ceph distributions. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw by creating numerous connections, exhausting file descriptors and rendering the ceph-radosgw service unavailable. This vulnerability carries a CVSS v3.1 score of 7.5 (High) due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and high impact on availability.
