CVE-2019-1889 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in the REST API of Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) Software. It allows an authenticated, remote attacker with administrator privileges to achieve root access due to incomplete validation of file paths during software uploads. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.2) has a low attack complexity and could lead to full compromise of the affected device. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
