CVE-2019-18642 describes a critical account takeover vulnerability in Rock RMS versions prior to 8.6. This flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to manipulate the user ID parameter during profile updates, enabling them to change the email address of any account, including administrator accounts, due to a lack of validation and sequential user IDs. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
