CVE-2019-18397

26
FAUCET Score

CVE-2019-18397 is a buffer overflow vulnerability in the fribidi_get_par_embedding_levels_ex() function of GNU FriBidi versions through 1.0.7, affecting applications that use FriBidi for text layout, such as those based on GNOME or GTK+. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.8) can be triggered by delivering crafted text content to a user, potentially leading to denial of service or arbitrary code execution. While the attack complexity is low, user interaction is required, and the impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability is high. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
