CVE-2019-17069 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting PuTTY versions prior to 0.73, as well as several NetApp and openSUSE products that incorporate PuTTY. A remote SSH-1 server can trigger this flaw by sending a specially crafted SSH1_MSG_DISCONNECT message, leading to access of freed memory and a system crash. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity and no user interaction, resulting in high availability impact. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this CVE.
