CVE-2019-15544 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the Rust protobuf crate prior to version 2.6.0, as well as Apache HBase and rust-protobuf projects. It allows unauthenticated attackers to exhaust system memory through crafted Vec::reserve calls. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction, leading to a complete loss of availability. Currently, there is no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
