CVE-2019-14925 describes an insecure permission assignment in Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. ME-RTU devices (through 2.02) and INEA ME-RTU devices (through 3.0), allowing a world-readable configuration file (/usr/smartrtu/init/settings.xml) to expose sensitive data. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 6.5) permits an authenticated attacker to remotely access usernames, passwords, and other RTU data with low attack complexity and no user interaction. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
