CVE-2019-12941 affects AutoPi Wi-Fi/NB and 4G/LTE devices released before October 15, 2019. The vulnerability stems from a weak default Wi-Fi password and SSID generation scheme, where both are derived from a limited 8-character input using the same hash function. This design flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to deduce the Wi-Fi password from the SSID. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), this vulnerability presents a low-complexity network attack vector that can lead to full compromise of the device, granting root access. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
