CVE-2019-11460 is a critical vulnerability affecting GNOME gnome-desktop versions 3.26, 3.28, 3.30 (prior to 3.30.2.2), and 3.32 (prior to 3.32.1.1). A compromised thumbnailer can escape its bubblewrap sandbox by manipulating the TIOCSTI ioctl on 64-bit systems, allowing an attacker to break out of the sandbox if the thumbnailer has a controlling terminal. This vulnerability carries a CVSS score of 9.0 (CRITICAL) due to its network-based attack vector, high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and the potential for complete system compromise. While highly severe, there is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
