CVE-2018-7500 is a critical permissions and access control vulnerability affecting OSIsoft PI Web API versions 2017 R2 and prior, as well as OSIsoft PI Vision. This flaw allows for privilege escalation, granting attackers full access to the PI System through the service account. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), it is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its severity, there is no known active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
