CVE-2018-5354 describes a critical vulnerability in ANIXIS Password Reset Client versions prior to 3.22, allowing remote code execution and privilege escalation. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by spoofing the intended server when the client uses HTTP, redirecting the browser to gain execution within the WinLogon.exe process, especially if Network Level Authentication is not enforced. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over an adjacent network with no user interaction, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
