CVE-2018-3999 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the JPEG parser of Atlantis Word Processor, specifically version 3.2.5.0. This flaw allows a specially crafted image embedded in a document to cause a length miscalculation and underflow, leading to an out-of-bounds write on the stack. With a CVSS score of 7.8 (HIGH), successful exploitation requires user interaction to open a malicious document and could result in high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
