CVE-2018-20958 describes a vulnerability in Tapplock devices (before firmware 2018-06-12) where the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) subsystem uses easily derivable credentials (Key1 and SerialNo from the broadcasted MAC address) for unlock operations. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 6.5) allows an adjacent attacker to achieve high confidentiality impact without user interaction. While no active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion has been observed, the fundamental flaw allows unauthorized unlocking of affected devices.
