CVE-2018-16881 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in rsyslog's imptcp module, affecting versions prior to 8.27.0, including those found in Debian and Red Hat. An unauthenticated attacker can crash the rsyslog service by sending a specially crafted message to the imptcp socket, resulting in a high-severity impact (CVSS 7.5).
