CVE-2018-16131 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Lightbend Akka HTTP versions 10.1.x through 10.1.4 and 10.0.x through 10.0.13. Remote attackers can exploit this flaw by sending a specially crafted "ZIP bomb" to the decodeRequest or decodeRequestWith directives, leading to excessive memory consumption and a daemon crash. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, resulting in a complete loss of availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
