CVE-2018-14358 is a critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Mutt before version 1.10.1 and NeoMutt before 2018-07-16. This flaw occurs in imap/message.c when processing a FETCH response containing an excessively long RFC822.SIZE field. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability allows unauthenticated remote attackers to achieve high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts with low attack complexity. Despite its severity, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
