CVE-2018-12559 is a directory traversal vulnerability in the cantata-mounter D-Bus service of Cantata through version 2.3.1. This flaw allows a regular user to mount a CIFS filesystem to arbitrary locations outside of the intended /home directory tree by using directory traversal sequences. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low privileges and no user interaction, potentially leading to high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
