CVE-2018-11714

50
FAUCET Score

CVE-2018-11714 is a critical authentication bypass vulnerability affecting TP-Link TL-WR840N v5 and TL-WR841N v13 routers. An attacker can bypass authentication on the /cgi/ folder or /cgi files by sending a crafted Referer header, specifically "Referer: http://192.168.0.1/mainFrame.htm". This flaw, rated 9.8 Critical on the CVSS scale, allows for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability without requiring any user interaction or prior authentication. Despite its severity, there is no known public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB) and it is not listed in CISA's KEV catalog; community discussion and media coverage are also minimal.
