CVE-2018-11338

CVE-2018-11338 is a critical information disclosure vulnerability affecting Intuit Lacerte 2017 and potentially older versions, where the entire customer list, including sensitive personal and financial data, is transmitted in cleartext over SMB. This allows unauthenticated attackers on the network to intercept this data via sniffing or man-in-the-middle attacks. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity and no user interaction, leading to a complete compromise of confidentiality.
