CVE-2018-11022 describes a kernel crash vulnerability in Amazon Kindle Fire HD (3rd Gen) devices running Fire OS 4.5.5.3. An attacker can trigger this denial-of-service by injecting a crafted argument into an ioctl call on the /dev/gcioctl device. With a CVSS v3 score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network without user interaction, leading to a complete loss of availability for the affected device. There is currently no public exploit code, active exploitation, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
