CVE-2018-10936 describes a critical vulnerability in postgresql-jdbc versions prior to 42.2.5, impacting PostgreSQL JDBC drivers and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This flaw allows a man-in-the-middle attacker to impersonate a trusted server by presenting a valid certificate for an incorrect host, due to the driver failing to verify hostnames when an SSL Factory is provided without a hostname verifier. With a CVSS score of 8.1 (HIGH), this vulnerability has a network attack vector, high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and a high attack complexity.
