CVE-2018-10058 describes a critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the remote management interfaces of cgminer 4.10.0 and bfgminer 5.5.0. An authenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw via specific command handlers (addpool, failover-only, poolquota, save) to achieve arbitrary code execution. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (HIGH), this vulnerability presents a significant risk, allowing for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability with low attack complexity and no user interaction required.
