CVE-2018-1002204, also known as 'Zip-Slip', is a directory traversal vulnerability affecting the adm-zip npm library prior to version 0.4.9. Attackers can exploit this by crafting malicious Zip archives containing 'dot dot slash' sequences, allowing them to write arbitrary files outside the intended extraction directory. With a CVSS score of 5.5 (Medium), this vulnerability requires user interaction (UI:R) and local access (AV:L) for exploitation, but can lead to high integrity impact (I:H). There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
