CVE-2018-1000613

32
FAUCET Score

CVE-2018-1000613 is a critical 'Unsafe Reflection' vulnerability (CWE-470) affecting Legion of the Bouncy Castle Java Cryptography APIs versions 1.58 through 1.59, as well as products from NetApp, OpenSUSE, and Oracle that incorporate these versions. This flaw allows for arbitrary code execution during XMSS/XMSS^MT private key deserialization if a specially crafted private key containing references to unexpected classes is processed. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), it is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While no active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion has been observed, the high FAUCET Risk Score of 84/100 indicates its severe potential.
