CVE-2018-0252 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in Cisco 3500, 5500, and 8500 Series Wireless LAN Controller Software. The flaw, stemming from improper handling of IPv4 fragments, allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a device reload by sending specially crafted malformed packets. With a CVSSv3 score of 8.6 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to a complete loss of availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
