CVE-2017-9149 describes a vulnerability in Metadata Anonymisation Toolkit (MAT) versions 0.6 and 0.6.1, where the "Clean metadata" function silently fails when invoked from the Nautilus contextual menu. This high-severity flaw (CVSS 7.5) allows attackers to obtain sensitive information from files that users believed had been cleaned, due to the application's silent failure. The attack vector is network-based with low complexity, requiring no user interaction.
