CVE-2017-8023 is a critical unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability affecting EMC NetWorker Client execution service (nsrexecd) when using the oldauth authentication method. An attacker can send arbitrary commands via RPC to be executed with administrative privileges on the host system. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
